2013 EASTER EGG CAMPAIGN FINAL UPDATE - THANK YOU ALL

THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING EGGSTRA GENEROUS!!

Nearly 200 chocolate Easter eggs were donated to our Easter Egg appeal,
smashing last year’s total of 98!

In total kindhearted shoppers donate 188 eggs – plus a soft toy lamb.

All the eggs donated to this years campaign has been distributed to local children via the Edinburgh City Mission’s ‘Basics Bank’ and The Salvation Army.

This means nearly 200 Edinburgh children, who would otherwise not receive a chocolate egg, will be given a sweet treat to enjoy this special Easter Sunday
(Yum! Yum! Steve & Bert among the 188 eggs!)

Jim Riddell, Centre Manager, Cameron Toll Shopping Centre said: “Our shoppers have proved once again that they are extremely generous and we’d like to say a big thank you to all of them for their donations. This is the third year we have run the appeal and we are over the moon with this year’s total.”

So on behalf of all the children who otherwise wouldn't have had an Easter egg to remind them of this special time of the year a HUGE big THANK YOU!!!

PLEASE BE EGGSTRA GENEROUS THIS EASTER!

CAMERON TOLL CHAPLAINCY EASTER EGG CAMPAIGN

For the third year running CTC has been invited to assist Cameron Toll with their Easter egg campaign, and we would like your help.

Last year we were delighted to distribute 100 eggs to Barnardo's and HomeLink.

Our two Charities for 2013 are:

Basics Bank which is in partnership with Edinburgh City Mission together with a local network of voluntary and charitable agencies, who refer clients for assistance which ensures that help is given to those with genuine needs. Basics Bank does not offer permanent help; it helps people on their way out of crisis, a hand-up, not a hand-out. Help can be provided for up to 6 weeks, after which the need for further assistance will re-assessed. Basics Bank also provides tuition in English as a foreign language on request. A new Basic Bank has just opened in Newington - this will be the Basics Bank we will be helping.

Our second charity is the Salvation Army http://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/esc/Edinburgh_City

The Salvation Army of course needs no introduction - they work tirelessly within Edinburgh.

So we ask you, when you buy one Easter egg please buy another and donate it in the big box outside Sainsbury’s from Monday 11th March until Wednesday 27th March.

Many thanks for your continued help and prayers.

This is our prayer points for 2012

PLEASE PRAY:

For our AGM on 8th November—to agree on the way forward in 2013 which best meets the needs of Cameron Toll

For the new chaplains Reuben & Danielle — as they provide a Christian presence at Cameron Toll
For all the employees at Cameron Toll—to meet the challenges of the difficult commercial environment
For wisdom for the Cameron Toll Steering Group as they seek ways of improving the profile of the Chaplaincy and guide and advise the chaplains in their work at the centre.

Welcome to our 2 new Chaplains

We are happy to announce that after our interviews last Monday we have 2 new Chaplains.

Funnily enough they both worship at the same church, ST Paul's & St George's fondly known as Ps&Gs in York Place!

Let us introduce them to you:-

Reuben Addis
(Ps&Gs)

 Danielle Milne
(Ps&Gs)

They're going to be working together for a month or two on a Tuesday & Friday mornings in Cameron Toll so if you see them please say hello and make them feel welcome.
Look out for them in the navy blue fleeces with the word Chaplain on the back! That'll be a big clue to who they are!

Please pray that our new Chaplains will soon feel at home and will enjoy this new voluntary role whether they be working together or working solo.

We'd also just like to take this opportunity to thank all our supporting churches within SEECAT (South East Edinburgh Churches Acting Together) and NCT (Newington Churches Together) for all their support and prayers.
As well as others who pray without us knowing!

Closing date has now passed!

Hi it's now the longest day in the year 21st June and we want to bring you up to date - the closing date has passed and now the hard work begins!
We have 5 applications from 5 impressive people. This is the most applications we have ever had which is brilliant but makes it even harder to choose!
Thanks folks for your interest.
We meet on Monday for the interviews and decide who we would like to come on board.
Please continue to pray that we choose the people that God wants for the 2 positions

So as they say:-
